Bubbleback help
Hey all. A local pawn shop has this on their website and I am going to take a closer look tomorrow and hoping to get some thoughts from the group here first. I will see if I can get more photos when I am there too like the movement/inside caseback/clasp/etc. Is it normal for the crown to not screw down all the way or could it not be original? It also looks like lug holes are only drilled on one side and there is some sort of hallmark on the 11 o clock lug both of which I find strange. It is also listed as a ref 1503 which I don’t think is right either. I did call today and they said there is a serial number between the lugs 38xxxx which from what is compiled online looks like 1945/46 but the person I talked to didn’t have any additional info or history. Thanks for any thoughts you all can provide!

Looks basically legit at first glance, but I'm not familiar enough to identify the reference. Agree that it's not a 1503. The mark could be a Portuguese import stamp. I had a Tudor with lug holes only on one side, I thought that was a cool feature, although some people apparently don't like it.

.
That's not a 1945. Probably after the reset of serial numbers, more like 1958. Similar models in the 2940 range. |
