Gold band

I got two dull spots on a gold band, looks like a water spot but doesn’t wipe off. I am not sure how to post pictures. Any ideas what it could be? Or how I can upload photos?

Gold band

Oxidation and constant contact with acidic reagents can cause a patina like you mention. Careful, Professional surface polishing might help. Or a Dizzy with a Cape Cod Cloth could be a quick fix.
PS: There is a sticky note about posting pictures - that may help you.

Anybody can attach images as long as they meet the size requirements for the type of file.

Welcome to TRF, definitely some type of oxidation there does not look a water spot.
If it really bothers you that much, a clean up, light polish will fix this for you. But it doesn’t look that bad right now? You might want to wait for it to have more marks and hairline scratches to polish everything.

Cheers,

I’ve only had the watch a little over a year so I was surprised to see this mark, there’s actually two spots.i had two tones for 10/12 years that never got these marks. What would cause this?

Some cape cod and a little elbow grease will sort you out, mate
