Questions about my 6694 Vintage Rolex

Good Day everyone
I am new here in rolex forums, I am also a member of Omega forum which I have learned a lot.

I am hoping to ask about my vintage rolex 6694 and the spare dial that I have. if someone knows a thread that discusses about these I would appreciate pointing me to that direction as I cannot find one.

But here are my questions, I have bought a rolex with tropical patina with cal 1210 movement, and I want to ask if Rolex 6694 comes with that cal, I have read they come in 1225 and for some 1215.

1. is it normal to have 1210 cal in 6694?
2. 6694 etch is above the registered design instead below, is this normal?
3. is the vintage tropical dial original?
4. is the spare dial original? and if so, what should be the year for that dial since it appears to be different from the tropical dial 6694

thank you in advance! hope someone who has the expertise can chime in

Welcome sorry for delay in answering, was in Cadiz for a bit of early sun and to see Battle of Trafalgar site.

Yes 1210 correct for your 1959/60 (serial 5**,***)- as is the SWISS radium dial with radium burn to hour markers. Handset correct too I think.

Engraving can be sloppy around this time but I suspect fine, photos are poor though. Btw on 6694/6426 cases there is hardly ever fake cases as values too low for fakers up to now.

The post 63 T SWISS T TRITIUM service dial is most likely legit too.

I think tropical is being a bit generous tbh…. it’s patinated nicely but a tropical in my eyes is as per this hugely overpriced (3 to 4x its value imho) one of same era with a 1210.

Hope that helps and enjoy your 6694.
