Second AP Incoming!

Received a surprise message from my SA a few days ago that one of the watches on my list was available. By the time I saw the message and replied it was a few hours later and he was already off work with the following day being his off day. I panicked a little and thought I had missed out on it lol. Luckily for me that wasn't the case and I was able to pick it up today. This is the 2nd watch for myself and 3rd overall. My wife got her 34mm ceramic just 2 months ago so I wasn't expecting another watch so soon. My SA is awesome!

I really love the watch a lot, the black dial contrasting with the silver bracelet really stands out nicely. I can't stop looking at it and I think it will be getting solo wrist time for a while.

The funny thing was both my wife and I didn't realise it was Valentine's day today until we both sat down and our SA mentioned it... this has to be the best Valentine's gift I've ever received

Now I'm considering going for the 26238ST in baby blue or full bracelet or the 26238TI in green for my next watch. Would love to hear if anyone has some opinions on these. I can't wait!

Congrats! I always find it a little funny that one of the first things we do after buying a watch is to start thinking about the next one.

Congrats! Both look amazing. Your wife's ceramic fits her perfectly. I'm jealous I tried the 34mm ceramic on and it was too small for me. What a nice way to start your Valentine's Day

I'm definitely jealous of her black ceramic and I'm constantly reminded by her how nice it is and how fast she was able to get it compared to me lol. I have now added it my own list of goals

Thanks man! I haven't left Patek so to speak, still have my 5172 and still love the brand but they haven't really offered me anything else that I've asked for. I'm not that crazy about the Nautilus or Aquanaut so I may just end up going grey for the few pieces that I like.

AP feels much more straight forward than trying to guess what the AD is thinking or wants me to buy.

That is true. We visited our new local Patek boutique and my wife was turned off by the “stiffness” of the place and claimed that she’s done with the brand. But I still love our 5172. One of the best chronographs for me.

That's funny, my wife said the exact same thing about the newly opened AP house here feeling a little stiff. That's why we chose to stick with our SA and the boutique.

Congratulations OP! Looks like there will be plenty more from AP for both of you in the near future, enjoy them in good health.

I’m also getting the same feeling from the Patek AD while AP has been more than transparent. Grey market isn’t a bad option for PP right now given the softness for dress watches, good luck hunting.

Would be fun if her ceramic had a silver-colored dial to serve as the inverse of yours! Anyway, congrats! Looks great.

haha my wife said something similar in that I should get the rose gold black dial eventually so we can be matching opposites. I'm normally not a coloured gold person but it has me thinking.

Couple shots from today. I love it when the light hits the tapisserie dial just right. I know I'm super late to the party but I can sort of understand the hype around this watch now. It's simple, classic, there's lots of different angles to admire, the movement while simple looks pretty nice, and the bracelet is one of if not the best out there. It's comfortable and beautiful.

If I had to sell all my watches and just keep one for a daily this would be a top contender for sure.

That's a nice pair of ROs.

Whichever 26238 you get, suggest getting with or adding a bracelet.
The quick change system is so convenient, and the wear experience differs notably between a bracelet and strap.
