Another One Gone

Sadly I received word from my SA last week that Ben Bridge Thousand Oaks is closing down. While he didn’t outwardly say it, I can only assume Rolex pulled or non-renewed their license to sell. I always had such great customer service by the staff there, sad to see it closing. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come for other BB locations

I had a feeling this was coming when the BB location in Topanga closed. Last time I went to the TO location the display stock was meager. That leaves Polacheck’s in this area which says up front you have to have spend history there to have any hope of being offered a watch. While that is not uncommon, I find it inexcusable on principle.

So frustrating. I have no dealers within 2.5 hours of my house, and it’s getting worse due to AD closures. You can’t get the desirable models without being a ‘regular customer’ or developing a personal relationship with the sales associates… but I can’t do that, because they are all so far away. About ready to stop the madness and only allow myself to “look” at Omega watches and forget the Crown. If I can ever actually buy a watch they advertise with some level of hype, maybe I’ll jump back in the pool…. Oh well…

I'd be cautious about Ben Bridge in general. A lot of their locations across the states have recently lost AD status including the one in Austin, TX last month.

That store closed permanently. I wonder if they lost their AD status because they closed or they closed because they lost their AD status…

That store closed because they lost their AD status. They knew well in advance it was going.

If your name isn't Bucherer or WOS, you are a target.

Unbelievable. I swear I thought that they were renovating that store a year ago….

Yep, Polachecks is opening a new Rolex boutique in that same Topanga mall.

I bet most if not all Ben Bridges will lose their Rolex badge. BB simply not upscale enough for where Rolex wants to position itself.

The Ben Bridge in the Houston Galleria closed sometime in ‘24. They had lost Rolex years before when the Deutsch owned Boutique opened but still had a few other watch brands. They do own the Breitling Boutique there, wonder if those will close too.
I have heard Zadok Jewelers of Houston will be opening a store in Austin at the same Domain outdoor mall that BB was in and will be a new Rolex dealer.

Glad i chose WoS long ago. Decades ago supported a wonderful small local and they lost their AD for Rolex, then Patek... WoS / Mayors has been excellent, considering the recent crazy bubble. In a few years this will all be tales we laugh at... and folklore when we're the Old Guys.

i was there when you could not buy a DateJust. The struggle was real

Makes sense. I think most of the Ben Bridge stores were selling out the back door anyway.

Selling out back door, fueling the grey market. Rolex puts kibosh down.

Does Zadok's Houston store carry Rolex? Last time I was in they did not. On the topic of Zadok, I was on the list to get a Royal Oak when they lost AP and send me back my $500 deposit.

Hopefully we don't loose our Ben Bridge here in Seattle. They are the original company Flagship store and the only Rolex dealer in the State.

Bucherer is coming to Seattle. I don't imagine Ben Bridge being an AD there after.

No they have never carried Rolex although I think they may have Tudor. We did have a TRF related meetup there once though. Met a lot of folks, looked at all the watches they carry, and their UllysesNardin rep was there with some preview pieces and some giveaway stuff.
I consider the person who told me Zadok was opening an Austin location very reliable. It was said to be in the Domain but in a new building, not the old BB store.
