18K YG Datejust 16238
Hello. I have not read any thread regarding this DJ, does anyone have pictures or wrist shots of this beauty. How come it is not as popular as the other DJs or the DD? I would appreciate to see some pictures of the DJ 16238 or 116238. Thanks.

Go to Google, click images and do a search for "Rolex 16238" you will get tons of pics.
I just think most people who are gonna spend for a 18K watch would wait and get the DD over the DJ. |

It's not really popular because it's...well... it's gold..
Gold jewelry pretty much went out of style a decade or two ago........... (at least it did out here in the sticks and tumbleweeds.........)

Don't buy something because of a comment on any forum... Everybody has their own style, comfort zone, culture, peers, and dynamics that will dictate a different model or metal than everybody else... ........ I was simply making a quip from remembering the days of Disco in the 70's when I wore a gold Rolex, gold necklace and gold bracelet........ and I was pretty conservative......

my personal favorite is a tt dj with a black diamond hour marker dial. they are classic, go great with a suit and still work with blue jeans and a casual shirt. they dress up or down very well. but it's just like everything else in life, personal preference!

I love the 18K YG Daytona, in fact I just saw it in Washington, DC this weekend with a sticker price of 28,000K. I asked my wife if she liked it......she told me that gold was so 80's. I still like it!!!

If you are near Windsor/Detroit (I see you are in Canada) shoot me a PM when you decide to sell the GV, I have wanted one for some time and am getting to the point where I am about to jump off the cliff and do it.

Buy what you really want regardless of others' opinions. Otherwise, you'll end up flipping the watch for what you originally wanted which has always been a very expensive exercise. Good luck on your purchase. |

won't be long, no one will be able to afford gold ..I'm certain will become more status .. rather than
tacky .. I still think the 18k all gold Rolex's are beautiful to look at. I had my eye on a 16238 on ebay right now .. only 6799.. seems like a bargain ..yachtmaster all 18k ..wow ...that's a watch |

Studio 54 had more gold Rolexes than members on this board with ss watches. Gold is thought to be "out" because people can't afford it anymore.....take it back down to 400 and it will be "in" again. |

Gold has been used and "in style" for the past 5000 years, it is unlikely to go the way of your bellbottoms, just because it is not "economical" for all at this time, but when has it ever been. It has been a symbol of Kings, Emperors, and Pharaohs for millenia. In fact, you should be so lucky to be able to wear this metal
Personally, I have never even seen an 18k YG DJ at any AD (and mine even stocks multiple platinum pieces...). To me, I would rather spend a bit more and have a DD. And yes, of course, SS models are more plentiful and popular. But Dodge and GM make more cars than Ferrari and Lamborghini. |
