Will Omega Ever Release a Ceramic Manual-Wind Speedmaster?

Hey Watch Lovers,

Omega has embraced ceramic in its Speedmaster lineup, most notably with the Dark Side of the Moon series, but all these models use automatic movements. The classic Moonwatch, known for its manual-wind heritage, has yet to see a fully ceramic version.

A manual-wind ceramic Speedmaster would offer scratch resistance, a modern aesthetic, and a lighter case while retaining the spirit of the original Moonwatch. However, concerns about brittleness, market demand, and pricing could be potential hurdles.

Would such a release excite collectors, or is the traditional steel Moonwatch irreplaceable?
Let’s discuss!

They already offer one. The 321.

Isn't the Apollo 8 a manual wind?

The old and new apollo 8 speedmasters are "Dark Side of the moon" watches and are ceramic.

This model has reprised the famous Calibre 321, which was an important part of the Speedmaster’s original space history.

The 39.70 mm case is in stainless steel and is inspired by the same 3rd generation style worn during America’s first spacewalk in 1965. There is also a bezel ring in polished black ceramic [ZrO2] with the tachymeter scale in white enamel.

The black step dial features familiar Moonwatch hands, a vintage OMEGA logo, as well as a small seconds sub-dial, 30-minute recorder and 12-hour recorder along with a central chronograph hand. Through the sapphire-crystal caseback, you can see the Calibre 321 inside.

My apologies, I was channeling a discussion about the lack of a ceramic BEZEL on the new Seamaster Diver 300 when I initially read this post.

Of course the 321 is not available in ALL ceramic....it does, however have a ceramic bezel, which the other Speedmaster's do not.

No worries, yes I believe OP was asking for a full ceramic watch similar to the others in the DSOTM line.
