I know this is an old thread but I couldn't resist chiming in. Here is my take on the issue. I think that the Daytona is the perfect women's watch. It looks good, is practical, and goes with just about any accessory and outfit. Not only are Daytona watches acceptable, but I think that it is expected now that so many women want them. I have proof too.

My wife’s watch collection consists of:
1. 16600 Sea Dweller
2. 116500 Daytona white dial
3. 126515 Daytona black dial sundust subs

All are 40mm watches, obviously her preference.

She once owned an IWC Big Pilot, but 46.2mm was too big even for her.

Wrist size 6-1/4”

Here is her with 31mm and to me that is the perfect size for her, which she agrees too.

Same. My wife sold all her Rolex that were larger than 31 and now she has only 31 and smaller.

Most of my watches would be considered men’s watches. To me, they are just watches. Of course, your wife can wear it!

She can only wear one at a time….

This is indeed an interesting topic to discuss in 2025, to say the very least…

And the answer is yes, indeed it does. No-one could look at this and say that a lady can’t wear a Daytona. Just wow…

There are no rules but if there were, a rule would be that Daytonas look phenomenal on women

Daytona's look just as good, if not better, on a woman's wrist. Though more so for the 11 vs 12 series - the 12 were beefed up, likely due to men complaining

I think Daytona looks great on women. It's both not too large anyway AND is undeniably a sports watch. Which should be larger. So while a DD40 might be too much for a lady, a Daytona that's about the same size looks good because it's supposed to look large.

wife is an attorney, thinks the 2 tone daytona is a great watch for her to match with jewelry but wants a full stainless with ceramic bezel.

Daytona can look good on women but don’t confuse a beautiful woman looking good with a Daytona on with a beautifully fitted Daytona on a woman looking good.

There’s a photo of charlize theron with some kind of oversized diver on fitting like a pair of handcuffs on a toddler - she looks fine but it’s not the watch it’s her!

If this works than a Daytona is no problem.

As an owner of both, I can unequivocally say, it is bigger. But, as always, your display of human equivalence of AI hallucination is fascinating and I am here for it!

If it physically fits on the wrist, then it’s acceptable. If she wears such small watches, I don’t think she will like the Daytona. Let her decide. Be ready for the watch to get banged up though.

The days of larger watches only being for men are past. Body mass along with wrist diameter, muscle tone & shape have more to do with if a watch looks attractive on a person than birth sex. Most slight people can pull off wearing a large watch, but larger people have a hard time wearing a small watch, unless you’re Muhammad Ali with a Cartier Tank.

If it's ok for Kristi Noem to wear one, it is ok for any woman.

Personally not a fan of the look, but that doesn't matter does it - cool to see that different people enjoy different looks..
