You look very comfortable there, James, in a nice setting. Peter Lehmann Portrait Cab Sav is a reliable drop. Pleased that you are having good weather.

Cant go wrong with that Cab, unless you add an Opus X cigar to it!

I’m exhausted. It’s barrel tasting weekend out here. The winery owners did the barrel tastings in the winery and then sent the guests to the tasting room where I was working by myself. We had a food truck and a musician playing on the stage. I barely had time to sit down during my 9 hr shift today, but what a great day. That over stressed situation with a full tasting room and people drinking glasses/bottles outside listing to music, kicked me into high gear again. I rocked the customer service end in the tasting room pouring and selling the wine. I had mental clarity on who was drinking what and what their next wine should be that I just haven’t had when it’s been slow or experienced really since we retired from corporate life. The stress sharpened my game. I was shocked at the end of the night to see I received nearly $500 in tips alone. Now I’m just enjoying a GSMM (also a bit of Malbec) from Woodward Canyon in Walla Walla before bed.

Oh, and a sometime during my shift I heard a patron compliment me on my watch but I had my back turned and never figured out who it was.

'Wine and Song' afternoon number 25 on Friday.
Another afternoon of good wine and great music with 3 great Mates.
My Penfolds Bin 407 was a 'crowd pleaser' and had aged beautifully as Penfolds wines generally do.

My American friends came to visit this weekend.

We did ‘Ferry across the Mersey’ for those who know.

This was splendid. Cork put up a fight but splendid nonetheless.

Laurie knocked it out of the park tonight with this red curry grouper! I had the task of finding something to drink with it. Well, I think I nailed it too, but with an unusual pick - a Texas red blend (50% Merlot, 43% Cab Franc, 7% Petit Verdot). Sometimes the planets align with unconventional picks!
