Grand seiko SBGN005

Hi,

Does anyone know if the SBGN005 quartz is still currently in production as of 2025? It still shows on GS main site but can’t seem to find any?

Thanks

I believe that has been discontinued for a number of years, but yes I agree that its still on the GS site for some reason. I owned and sold the SBGN005 - great watch, just didn't wear it a lot in the rotation.

Maybe your AD can source one for you? I recall seeing them on Bucherer/Tourneau’s website not long ago.

The update version is great too (have the SBGN027). I initially wanted the older generation but happy I chose the latest one.

How is the white hand GMT? Is it distinguished enough from the other hands or causes a bit of confusion because it’s monochrome?

Better watch than its replacement IMHO, too bad it was discontinued. I like the 3 O’ Clock crown placement and framed date window of the 005 compared to its successor.
