I actually think there were 10 examples of the 3 styles. 10 is the usual number I believe.

And that's the beauty of these pieces, we all have different tastes and over the years Patek try to produce a subject that appeals to the widest possible audience.

If we are to believe the article is accurate, 78 new 2025 Rare Handcrafts will be executed.

24 are clocks (23 dome table/small clocks + 1 desk clock)

10 are pocket watches

44 Calatrava/Ellipse wristwatches

= 78 Total

It mentions 12 LE Zodiac Calatravas @ 2 each = 24 Zodiacs.

Not my photo - just representative of 12 Zodiac signs.

Then it goes on to talk about different one-off motifs for Ellipses, clocks, pocket watches.

Nowhere (that I can find in the article) does it say 10 each of any motif are to be repeated.

Perhaps the Zodiac Calatravas may have 2 per sign that are nearly the same within the run of 24 but that isn't made definitely clear.

If PP published a catalog for exhibition goers maybe it has a definitive answer...

They have catalog for each year. I have one for the past year. But is it available yet for this year

Thanks for the image and the clarification. I certainly would love the one Russell996 snagged but alas I'm just a one Calatrava owner at this time.

i feel that a limited edition of 10 for each piece is very acceptable. i only get p.d off when TS claims it is for the passion and beauty of the arts:::)))

Very interesting, Michael. Thanks for sharing.

I'd like to add an observation if you don't mind. From 0:40 up to 1:06 at the begining of the vid Mr. Stern talks about his grandfather's pocket watch and how he remembered the drawing and I noticed it was Vermeer's painting 'The Glass of Wine' that belongs to Gemäldegalerie, Berlin.

This is the painting below and you can also see it on the watch.

I took this pic in february 2023 in Amsterdam when Rijksmuseum held the largest Vermeer exibition in history. They brought together 28 paintings from a total of just 32 existing paintings from the dutch master. The exibition had paintings that came from NY, Washington, Berlin, Dresden, Paris, Amsterdam, The Hague etc and it was sold out for almost the entire time. I traveled to Amsterdam in 2023 for 12 days just for this exibition and I was able to attend 3 times because I joined the Friends of Rijksmuseum program and it was allowed for members.

This has been a hobby for me over the last 30 years.

I hope it has been an interesting observation regarding mr. Stern grandfather's pocket watch.

I will say they look WAY better in-person. For some reason a lot of the photography for them makes them look very "flat".

Impressive Russell, this is the kind of watch to handle in the metal to appreciate fully but your pics are perfect. The snow looks so charming the way it is here.

Thanks for sharing by the way, truly appreciated.

Amazing!
I know I’m very far from it (and will probably always be) but how do you get allocated one?

🙏. The process (in the UK), is make your choice, ask your AD to request your selection (this year they had to request within a couple of weeks of the RHC exhibition starting), keep your fingers crossed.
