As do others. TAG just announced a hairspring made of carbon. So if those need attention, you'll depend on the manufactures' replacement parts. What if 38 years from now you can't get a replacement?

This thread has been nothing short of extraordinary—an inspiring testament to the enduring soul of horology. To discover that many mechanical marvels from the early 1900s can continue ticking for millennia is not just fascinating… it's poetic. I'm thrilled that my curated list of master watchmakers and restoration resources has sparked such momentum. Whether you're just beginning your journey or already deep in the craft of horology, you now hold a 'map' to begin your own restoration odyssey. And if you haven't yet shared which timepiece you're reviving, that mystery only adds to the allure. Do hope you post a photo or the of it, as am curious which timepiece you desire to be restored.

I suspect some of you will soon join your country’s watchmaking guild—be it AHCI, NAWCC, JCWA, or another esteemed institution. That's a beautiful step forward. Our shared passion for mechanical timepieces isn't just a hobby—it's a reverence for artistry, engineering, and horology's legacy. When one chooses to invest $20,000 or more into a watch, obviously educating oneself in the art of horology becomes not just expected—but essential! It's a reflection of care, curiosity, and connoisseurship. Explore Horopedia, and let it be your gateway. There are countless other treasures waiting for you to be discovered!

For those who feel the pull even deeper, watchmaking schools await—sanctuaries where time is not just measured, but sculpted. We live in a golden age for enthusiasts, collectors, and dreamers alike. So celebrate this moment, savor it!

As always... enjoy your time
