I came, I'm learning and now it's introduction time

My name is Ron and most of my life has been spent buying and selling cars/trucks. With most if not all the work done by me excepting painting. I've learned over the years that forums dedicated to a certain product provide way more information about any given hobby than any other means. Not to mention you can build up relationships with people near and far. Some really good friends have been made when going to car/gun shows. I don't see myself posting to often as this is a new area for me in my life and I just don't usually post unless I feel it will provide some value to the community. Early on my posts will be questions that I can't find information about or the information I have needs a little more clarification.

It is amazing that quite a bit of watch buying/selling/tactics (personal & AD) are basically the same in the car world & gun buying world. What strikes me the most in the watch world is how difficult it can be to get a new watch. The watch world buying game is like playing monopoly (time consuming) vs checkers (relatively quick). Watch buying is much more time consuming than I expected and then you walk away with no actual watch, but a friendly "we'll give you a call when it comes in". No true transparent list, no timeframe (year/month), I just "need to be happy I'm on a list" - wow, new feeling for me. I've been on a couple of lists before for cars, but the dealership clearly communicated from the start a rough month/year I would have it.

We'll see how long it takes from October of this year to get my OP41. In the meantime, I'll be asking some questions about the Milgauss 116400 (would rather have the 1019, but I want/need to be more educated on this model before I drop that kind of dough).

Happy to be here! Cheers!
