Hw many Yacht-masters are among this lot???
Woke up on Saturday morning, opened my front door and this is the beautiful view I was welcomed with.
The ferry you can see is the Bute ferry which sails from the west coast of Scotland to the beautiful Isle of Bute which is where I stay. |

I bought one for my father in-law for his sixtieth birthday. Never saw him wear a watch before, but he hasn't taken it off since he got it.

Don't have one, but I think it's gorgeous!
Nice pics BTW. Very tranquil.

I have the SS/platinum YM, but, alas, no yacht to go along with it.

If they are wannabe sailors a lot of them,if they are real sailors and boat race competitors then none of them and plenty of Suuntos and Ghocks, trust me.
I live at 15 minutes driving from the place where every year the Rolex Cup is held ( milionaires at play with their swanky sailboats),no Rolexes in sight both on piers or boats. Just the TT Sub wich is the main prize.... |

That's for sure cause I don't have one. The PT is a fantastic watch, and one of the most under rated Rolex watches there are....Not under-priced mind you......just under rated.

Best sailing watch? Timex Ironman. Cheap, can be picked up anywhere should you break/lose/forget yours. Plus mine has a digital compass in case we somehow fry the electrics AND destroy the binnacle and it has 5 alarms which is great for you come on watch at the right time. Suunto makes some okay stuff but a little pricy/big for something that's going to get beat up a lot, I like the smaller size and lower profile. After we get back on land the Rolexs, Omegas etc come out

My pair
Here are my two yachtmasters - one a Rolex, the other Royal Yachting Association/Maritime & Coastguard Agency certification......
TBH I would never wear my Platty on a yacht - too many metal objects to bash it against - these are the pieces that I wear on the water: |
