Mother report

All,

I just wanted to give you all a report on my mother and thank you again for all your kind wishes and prayers.

You may recall that I posted concerning my mother's health a few weeks back. Since that time I have been in Louisiana attending to her. During this time she spent almost two weeks total in the hospital, but is now back home at the nursing home under 24 hour care.

She is resting comfortably and not in any pain, but has lost completely her independence and ability to take care of herself in any way. Please keep us in your thoughts as this is as difficult a time as I can remember going through. And THANK YOU again to all our friends here. We genuinely and sincerely appreciate each of you!

Richard and Leah

I've been thinking about you and your mom Richard. I know you're relieved that she's out of the hospital, but it still must be so difficult to see her in the condition she is in. We continue to pray for her and wish you more strength each day. Hang in there my friend.

Glad to hear of the improvement, though I know it's still very difficult.
Prayers continued.

I am sorry your mother has not recovered more completely. But thankful that she is doing well. Our best wishes that she continues to be okay.

My husband and I have been through this with his mother and it was a long road. Hugs! If you need any advice related to health care, nursing facilities, sitters, please PM me.

Kaya,

Thank you for the generous offer. We just hired a sitter to be with my mother. It is worth every penny to know that she is well taken care of.

It appears that the nursing home let her get dehydrated which was one of the reasons she went back to the hospital for 4 days.

In the small town where she is, there are not any choices of nursing homes. The one she is in is our only choice. They are good people there, but just overwhelmed. Hopefully things will be much better for her with the sitter there.

Thank you again for your concern and your offer.

Richard
