Custom Strap Idea, opinions wanted!
Hi all, I'm working on a custom strap idea that I will have made by one of the forum favorite strap makers. I lik ethe idea of a light coloured strap, lighter than my skin. I have very dark tanned skin so most of the "tan" and cognac straps almost blend with my skin. I have a ton of darker straps, so I though I'd go light on this one. The concern is that it can look feminine. What do you think of this design? It would be made out of Ivory Nubuck with dark chocolate or charcoal edging and stitching. I made the keeper with a dark patch as that is the area with the greatest contact with my drawing table when I'm working and gets soiled the fastest.
All opinions welcome, good or bad. ![]() |

I think it would work well on a darker skin tone. I couldn't personally pull it off but in your case I think it would be perfect. Sounds like you got pretty technical during design infancy.

I'll dig around and see if I can get some pics. I have several light colored straps including OEM baby blue and this insane bright green croc. I have a few bright white straps as well as a creme one kind of like that.
My watch is a 251 with a creme dial so it goes very well with lighter colors but I think the strap will look great on any watch. It will not look femenine for sure. The light color variation you show will be very classy looking. I've been thinking about having some baseball straps made. Many people make them out of old baseball gloves but I mean making from an actual ball. Imagine either a bright white shiny leather with red stitching or an old used ball with beat up tan/grey color and dull stitching. Either way I bet it would look great. Can't wait to see it!!!!

Doesn't look feminine to me. I think it would get dirty quickly however.
