Hello All,
Looks like I can source one of these, just need a little advice regarding wear..... 1) Will it stay looking NEW-NEW? I'm thinking it will simply crack at breaking point, but not pick up any scratches/scuffs in between? 2) Does the winding crown have an unlock mechanism, or is it just a case of putting on a few turns to keep the thing powered? Any other pro's con's welcomed ![]() |

"The interesting about this watch is not its movement, but its finish. Unlike most black watches in the market, it does not use PVD. It is a ceramic coated watch. The ceramic used is Zirconium Oxide and it is molded from powder using a process of isostatic pressure instead of being cast. This process make it extreme durability, reputedly five times tougher than 316L steel, it also highly resistant to scratches and corrosion."
Just something I found out there that may help you decide... BUT nothing will always look "NEW-NEW" I am not a fan of the Radiomir BUT this is the one Id get if I was getting a Rad. Good choice and shows us some pics when you get it!

I thought ceramic was darn near bullet proof?

It should not chip or crack, but you'll see some hair swirls here and there. I have a scar on my PAM 111 but I really had to try hard: I knocked it into a metal plate under the table.

I guess a blow that would shatter the cystal, could crack the ceramic.Just a practical way of looking at it.Same goes for a diamond even.
Yes,the crown locks.Unscrew and then wind. I have a 292J and it is a beautiful watch.No question !! ![]() ![]() |
