Rollie and Omega
Do any of you like to change back and forth between your Omegas and your Rollies? I have a Seamaster and I really like it. It does not have the ultimate "gravitas" of the Rolex, but it is definitely nice and I find the two to be kindred watch spirits. What do you think?

I think that is one hell of an idea. I am trying to talk my wife into a SMP share wrist time with my SD.

I used to swap between my TT sub and classic seamaster but I haven't worn the Omega in quite a while. I'll never get rid of it as I bought it new around about 1974 and it was my first classic watch. I used to swap between a Panerai and the TT sub until last February when I decided the sub was a much better watch and had more charisma. Whatever I swap with, I always return to the sub.

Once I open up my present which has the Omega SMP, it will definitely be sharing wrist time with the Breitling, Rolex and Steinhart.
I love the feel of the Omega bracelet as it is very comfy.

Some of their models like the Submersible and the GMT are truly superb, especially on their classical SS/Ti bracelets. Only brand you are allowed to smash around is RADO!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I agree that the Omega SMP bracelet is a great work of engineering. I love how solid it is. It seems less subject to bracelet laxity over time than the oyster bracelet.

I just can't get into the Panerai's. I know they are very very good watches and the ones I have seen look great, but I just can't see one on my wrist.
An Omega Speedy would be nice though...

I think Pan.'s are nice. They have a style that really is unique.
But, the Speedy's and Sub's will always be in style. They are classics. |

Adrian,
Thanks for posting the pic. Great watch; which I will refer to as "timeless" as to avoid the age thing. |

Adrian,
I now realize you were talking about your misprint in the previous post. Should make you feel good about your age. I am 31 and overlooked the obvious! |

Omega and Rolex
This is a frequent thread in my watch collecting profile.Omega,Rolex,Omega,Rolex etc etc.
As I don't have a big budget I normally only have the one watch at a time and when it is an Omega it will be a Seamaster. Ist Omega I owned was an Ian Thorpe LE ![]() ![]() followed by a 2254.50.00 ![]() a co-axial Bond GMT was next, ![]() and finally my White GMT, ![]() Each time between the Omegas Ihave had Rolex Submariners or GMT Masters.I would dearly love to keep some but as I said before I am on a budget. ![]() Aaron ![]() |
