Lt. Dan got me started on watches at another forum, so I posted a recent purchase of a Citizen Calibre 8700. Jomashop= Waited 3 weeks to tell me they were out of stock and decided to cancel the order.

Now Dan's got me purchasing some random "Alpha" watches no one has ever heard of

Anyway, I'll post a review of the watch once I receive (Amazon should be shipping within 3 days).

15 or so years ago I bought a Noblia Professional. This watch to this date looks as good and works as accurately as the day I bought it. Cant say the same for the bracelet though. Too bad they stopped making them.

never really trust those eco-drive too much, some of their new ones have built in antenna that correct times, a bit too digital for my taste.

Always a seiko since I was young, still am.

I too was a fan of the Citizen. The reason I am not now is the customer service, not the watch. I was in Panama City Fl. in a Pressure vessel (Recompression Chamber with water in it) and upon ascent from 300' i noticed a small air bubble under the crystal of my Pro Diver. It died soon after. I was far from its certified depth of 660' and Citizen said: "Send it in and we will see if we can fix it but no refund or swap.

Nice looking watch myself a fan of Citizen my own trusty Aqualand 11 has seen a lot of underwater life. And has took a few hard knocks, but has always performed without missing a beat. There mechanical Miyota movements are very robust and long lasting.

I was looking at that watch the other day...my only fear was the thickness. It's almost as thick as my Nike Oregon. I'll be curious to see pix on your wrist. Wish it had an alarm too but other than that I think it's really sharp. I have an EcoDrive Largo. Nothing special but it keeps great time...setting the time required an advanced degree tho.

By the way...saw this model at Costco tonite but in two tone "gold". It looks very nice in person...wasn't nearly as thick as I thought.

Thats a nice looking watch.

At the risk of asking what potentially might be a stupid question. What exactly is the purpose of the Moonphase and how does it work??? I think they look cool!

Nooo! don't let him! He told me that story last time, and all I ended up with was that every full-moon I grew a thick 'sweater', and had the desire to wear shorts and a singlet.

Hang on... I'm wearing that now!

Shows you the age of moon or something, not that I care about it much but a cool feature anyway. The link above lets you play with the watch interactively on your browser.

Sorry JJ for hijacking the hijack.

LOL! The watch which can be invented that tells you the actual "AGE" of the moon....well that watch would be worth like a gazillion dollars!!

Came in yesterday. Can't really do anything with it, as my girlfriend won't let me touch until after xmas. So pictures and proper review will have to wait 'til then. I need to have 3 links taken out and adjust all the settings before giving it real use. It's pretty heavy in my opinion, but if doesn't work "you could always heet heem with it" <---NoPrize to whomever gets that line
