Do the eagle-eyed Rolex experts in the WatchOut forum look at the watches sold and traded in the For Sale/Want to Buy forum on TRF? Though I have had good luck buying on TRF so far, I'd love to know that the TRF experts who can spot fakes with such amazing accuracy (i.e. the new DSSD fakes) look at that forum with the same eye for fakery that they do ebay. It seems that someone would have to be a moron to try and sell a fake on TRF, but then again, before I spend five figures on a watch, I really want to know that the watch is real.

It has been my opinion that the sales forum is packed with top of the line sellers, and top of the line pieces- I am sure most everyone will agree. While I too await for the pros to chime in, I think that there are probably some questionable pieces that 'try' to make it on the board- only to get cut by our eagle eye mods, which are great people!

I agree with the eagle eye comment, but........Murphys Law says if it can happen, it will.

If you watch the for sale forum, you will notice that from time to time a dodgy seller and/or his dodgy watch get spotted and 86'ed.

This is such a great community that it would take a lot of guts for someone to knowingly sell fakes.

There have been some fake boxes offered for sale but I've never known of a fake watch being sold on TRF. I've also noticed two or three watches that sellers claimed as all original which weren't all original. This was based on newer parts or accessories that weren't original to the watch.

We do frequent the for sale, and a number of times if we don't find the offending articles, there are always many members that are scouting through the for sale/trade that alert us on potential hunkus la fungus
