Noticed something...
When handling a friend's nearly new 111 yesterday which had stopped - wound down, I saw the small second hand jump forwards a few seconds. I assumed this was due to slack in the unwound mechanism (could not get it to move again). My friend said he had noticed this before but thought nothing of it - watch seems to run perfectly. Has anyone else seen this i.e. is it normal?
(my own PAMs are in the safe deposit so I cannot compare at the mo) Cheers

Hi Clive.
Yes I have seen this happen on an unwound 6497. I would say that the escapement doesn't engage properly until the movement is would up a little.

Thanks Eddie, that makes sense. I have other watches which use this movement (or a variation thereof) but none of them have a second hand.
Cheers - and a belated Merry Christmas! ![]()

Any other PAM owners care to comment before I speak to my buddy again?
