I like the 240 ,but prefer the 104.Also look at the 312/320/88/111/005/112/000

Panerai would not be seen dead in the same boat as Rolex.

Having added a PAM to my (small but growing) collection I can see both PAMs and Rolex having a place for the long term. They're very different types of watches and I personally like the rarity value of PAMs due to their low production numbers.

I wouldn't say that you can compare the two directly. Both have a strong and loyal following. I bought my watches purely on the basis that I liked them, however, it's always reassuring that they both have strong resale values.

The 240 is a good watch, however, personally titanium isn't my favourite case, I prefer the polished/brushed SS. Good luck with the hunt and I look forward to updates.

i'm looking for a 44mm case with date. preferrably luminor marina. any suggestion??i'm new to panerai and i like the looks of the 240,but i noticed no one is really talking about that model here. suggestions??i don't need a gmt or chrono. i just want a simple 44mm with date. what 44mm model is the most preferred and most popular?

The 104 is the ss equivolent of the 240.Then you will have to look at the 312 too !! The 312 is the current favourite amongst many here.

I believe that the only differences are the case material (240 Ti, 104 Polished SS), the face colour (240 dark brown, 104 black) and the strap that is provided (240 brown alligator, 104 black alligator).

Other than that they have the same movement, etc..

Between those two it comes down to personal preference I guess. Hope this helps.

thanks so much for the idea. it's hard to distinguish one model from another coz the looks are all pretty same.still a lil confused..im new to panerai.. so 312 is the most popular model now? in rolex that's the one equivalent to the submariner?(popularity wise).

PAM 111=Rolex Submariner

PAM 233=Rolex Daytona

Good luck!
