Filling an MB 149

I noticed that the filling action on this 149 seems very hard to operate, almost like the plunger is sticking in the barrel. I don't have an MB agent in SA.
Any advice as to how I get this back to a smooth action? It is circa 1990's. I have rinsed it out with warm water and filled it with ink and it writes ok but the 'sticking' hasn't changed.

Might need to go to Melbourne for a service?

A pix taken outside would have been better but it's 42c today.

Nice 149 Eddie! and Happy New Year!
The MB repair agent is in Adelaide. Ask Steve. He knows that company.

I did have an Adelaide number but it has been disconnected.

Happy New Year to you.

Happy New Year to you too.
Is this a new pen you have acquired?
I've had the problem you are talking about, and you will need to get Montblanc to fix it.

I suggest contacting a Montblanc boutique and speaking to them about it. If not, I suggest contacting Peter Ford, of Melbourne Vintage Pens, or David, at Pen City (also in Melbourne). Check:

I had a similar problem with an early nineties 149 and Greg Minuskin fixed it with a little grease. I sent it to him for an retipping job and he fixed the piston mechanism without my asking. Point being, you don't necessarily need to send it to MB to get it fixed.
