Mont Blanc ballpoint?

Anybody using the ballpoint? I had the fountain pen and never got the hang of writing with it so I sold it and got the ballpoint.

I used to have a MB rollerball but I lost it.
I always enjoyed writing with it but I prefer fountain pens now.

Tried all three last weekend, and ended up with a roller ball. Liked the way it flowed across the paper.

I've owned the fountain pen, rollerball and ball point. The fountain pen and rollerball were stolen out of my briefcase at a work site....years ago. I'm left with the ball point and love it.

However, thinking back to the day when I had all three.....the rollerball was very nice.

Glad to see others think the ballpoint is ok to use.

I have examples of all three MBs and they each have a distinctive writing style. I'm currently using a FP but do enjoy writing with the RB and BP for a change up!!!

I prefer my MB FP but I'm looking for MB BP for X'mas to match the FP.

I have three from the late eighties/early nineties. Heavily used but look new. I also have a roller ball, two fountain pens and a grand pencil from the same period, which is my favorite.

I carry and use all of my MB's. Since a lot of the writing I do at work is on multi-part forms, I would ruin the nib on a fountain pen in no time. I like the roller-ball (I have a Czar Nikolai roller-ball), but the refills don't last nearly as long as the ballpoints.

Best,
Skip

I just received a MB Starwalker Resin BP for Christmas and LOVE it. BP are more my style cause I like to push hard when I write, but the RB pens are very nice too.

When I had a boardroom to go to, it was de riguer to have the Fountain Pen in your pocket....

But I found them messy, unpredictable and high maintenance..comparatively speaking..

They are nice for an occasional Thank You note or special signature.. but the RB or BP make all the sense in the world..and if you drop one, it's a cheap fix...........

I have both a BP and RB and tend to use my BP for everyday stuff and my RB for things like significant document signatures. No wrong choice IMO.

Monteverde/Yafa make gel refills expressly for MB BPs. I have used them since the BP is lighter than the RB and you have no cap to take off and on. The refills write beautifully, and in exotic colors, but didn't last. I would write roughly the equivalent of one page and the refill would die, very frustrating. Does anyone have any knowledge of other companies who make gel refills that fit Montblanc BPs?

I have a 164 BP incomming and just out of curiosity, why do you prefer the gel refills and not the standard (long lasting) MB refills?

My MB BP is right at 20 years old

I have not used it much in the past 3 years since I retired but I did you it everyday at IBM sales day and many times before that....in 20 years I bought only 2 refills for it.

I don't think you can convert a FP to a BP, however, it could be possible to a RB.
