Question regarding my 116613 Movement

When i put my watch on this morning it had quit. It had been a while since i wound it last. I put the recommended number of windings on it and screwed the crown in. Nothing happened. The watch didn't start ticking. I put it on my wrist and all the sudden it started ticking.

Questions is, is it normal for the watch to require a "kick start" of movement to get it going after it is wound? If not, should i take it in for service? I just got it for Christms.

Thanks everyone.

To fully wind a stopped movement you want 40 full crown turns clockwise, and would doubt if anything is wrong with your watch..

Nothing should be wrong...Just shake it after you're done winding it...and it should be good 2 to go...

Thank you padi56. This is my first Rolex and i don't want to mess anything up. it is an amazing timepiece. I feel that my next one will be the new Ceramic SS version if they are made.

Thank you again.
