No idea. But may cost around 25-30 dollars if this is a fake as mentioned by Ed.

I would suggest posting pictures of the case back and movement if possible.

Men in high places wear fakes too. Just yesterday, I saw a doctor in a store that had a fake Coke GMT II.

The wear on the top exposed part of the case surrounding the dial looks like its not solid gold.... It looks like the gold has worn off??

Any number or pics of the movement/serial number would be helpful. Interesting none the less.

That's a good looking watch. The current Prince model is too large for my tastes; that Prince is a very classy, understated watch.

I had to ask my banker in France to take it out of the safe and make a few pictures (Which she is not usually allowed to do) I don't think i'll get any more pics. Isn't there like a catalog or a big database that lists all Rolex watches or something?

It could be what they sometimes call the scroll lugged prince type Rolex tank watch from mid late 1940s.But cannot be 100% sure there should be a model ref between lugs or inside case back.

Here is my answer from the other thread in the Vintage Board:

Probably a 1930's or early 40's "railway" case, single step model.. It is very indicative of that era.. The movement should be signed..

Aegler made movements for both Rolex and Gruen at the time, and the watches were very close in looks. Rolex sold in the UK, and Gruen sold in the USA. ... I'm surprised that there isn't a case number stamped on the back along with the model number. Perhaps inside the case.. Of course, it does need further authentication..
