Best way to ship a Rolex?
I know this has been touched on before, but what's the best way to ship it?
I just sold a Monaco and will likely be receiving a Rolex... ... is USPS registed the best? Slow though... I know Greg (mosco) had an issue with fedex. What do you guys use? Especially those who ship regularly.

USPS Express with insurance is faster (I have shipped expensive items that way) than USPS Registered Mail. Safest is USPS Registered, though, and as everyone stated, very slow and the tracking system is useless.

As others have said, definately the safest way to ship high value items is via USPS registered insured. A friend who works for the PO told me that every person who handles a registered package must sign for it, and it's kept in the PO safe every night, and if a person is found responsible for "losing" a registed package he/she is in a whole world of trouble.

the best and most cost efficient way I have found to ship domestically is UPS second day air - from east coast to west coast in (2) days for like $25 and complete tracking is available.

I just shipped a watch to GB and had to ship it USPS express.
I was told by the post office that I could only insure registered mail up to $50??? They said max on Express was $650... This was told to me by two DIFFERENT post offices. Has anyone else had this experience shipping to the UK? |

If it's under $5k, USPS Priority or Express mail. If it's over $5k, USPS Registered.
With all the light that has been shed on FedEx's limited insurance liability, all that says to me is: "We can't trust our employees, so if you have anything worth more than $10, don't ship it with us, please." |
