Great pens. That M800 looks fantastic, how do you like the F nib?

I particularly love the Pelikan. I think they are incredible pens. Unlike many other writing instruments on this subforum, they manufacture a lightweight pen that writes is in a class unto itself. If I had to choose between MB and Pelikan, I'd take the Pelikan anyday. (Uh oh! Hope I don't get banned for blasphemy!)

P.S. In case you haven't noticed, this is Montblanc Village!

Thanks. I heard the Pelikans were generally wider than other brands so went for the F nib. Serves very well for the intended purpose (taking notes, signatures in cramped forms) but maybe a thicker nib suits its large size? An excellent writer, the construction and finish is absolute stunning.

I wrote a 2 hour exam with it yesterday! I'm sure I had the best looking pen With Pelikan Black it writes very wet and I had to wait for the paint to dry before turning each page Cheers,

Congratulations, gelshocker, on a couple of great pens. A good start to your collection. Really love that Pelikan. The green stripe is classic! I have a Pelikan demonstrator and love the way it writes. It is "broad" for a fine point, but makes a nice change for personal notes and letters. For note taking, I prefer a finer line, and choose another pen.

Both Pelikan and MB make excellent pens, choosing one over the other is more a matter of personal preferance.
I used to have few Pelikans among them M800, M200, M620, M640 and they all write great but I'd take a good MB with a F nib over a Pelikan anyday but again thats me, I'm a MB guy!!!

I have only been writing with a fountain pen for a few months(newbie) now and prefer the nib to be extra fine or if larger a fine nib. I guess I'm in the minority because the two shops I go to here in the Chicago area(MontBlanc and Paradise Pen)pretty much stock only mediums nibs or larger on their stock and would have to order me one with an extra fine nib. Am I missing something???

Great Pens Gel, I picked up a Pelikan 215 a couple of weeks ago and I love it. After I had an initial issue with dry starts (easily fixed thanks to Joji's advice), it writes great. I've been using the Pelikan Blue-Black, and noticed it does write pretty wet, which i don't mind. Enjoy them!
