1970 1675 gmt what movement?
Hi guys, doing some more research on a vintage 1675 gmt (not the same one as the other day) which looks good apart from the movement #. In my Rolex Report it says that the movement for this model should be a 1565 or 1575. The movement in this 1970 model according to the reputable seller (not fleabay) is a 1530 but the only reference I can find for that movement was for a submariner. Now, with so many different styles, case # and mov # configurations I could be reading it all totally wrong.
Any ideas anyone what the correct movement is for this year, thanks. |

the 1530 doesn't have the 24 hour hand, so it must be one of the other ones...
It is a possibilty that the movement itself has 1530 on it, but that means that the automatic bridge got switched at one point, and they didn't replace it with the correct model number. It still works though, because they are interchangeable. Don't worry about it, just enjoy your watch! ABS |

Hi bigsecret, thanks for your input. Yes it is the 24 hour dial, identical to this 1971 model below (this one has the 1560 mov) I do worry about it because I am buying it, and I want to be sure it is the correct movement for this model, if it's not then that will have a big affect on it's value I would have thought.

Proper movement should be a 1575 slow beat. It's generally felt the 1565 was changed to the 1575 during the mid 60s (about the time enclosed minute tracks went away.
A 70ish 1575 may or may not hack. That's during the change over period. |

I questioned the owner on this and he has replied saying sorry, got it wrong, it is infact a 1570 caliber, which is in between a 1565 and a 1575, so logically it does sound right, what do you reckon Boy, it's a minefield of numbers with this watch collecting game |
