Quick advice on size needed: MB Legrand or classique
I am looking for advice from the experienced MB users. Yesterday I got BP Meisterstuck classique platinum line for present from my wife. I have been looking for Meisterstuck pen for a while but never really touched it. Now that I have the classique it looks and feels a little small. Went to AD today to test a Legrand. It looked much bigger, had more presence, felt good. I have average size hands.
The question is which one is the most popular pen among men, Legrand or classique? Which one is for everyday use? Is Legrand just for the show? |

I think it just depends on what you like and will use. I'm sure the veteran fountain pens veterans will give you sound advice(which ones are cartridge fill/converter or both). I happen to like the smaller and medium size pens and own and use a A. F. Chopin MontBlanc FP and a MontBlanc Meisterstuck Doue Silver Barley FP.....

I have both sizes and prefer the larger Legrand size. My hand is probably of average size and feels a little cramped using the classique. The Legrand allows me to have a looser grip on the pen.

I just bought a Meisterstuck Classique in black/gold. Pix later.
It's a small pen by comparison to the other MBs, but I find it to be perfect for quick note taking ala post-its and things. It does not strike me as too small at all. Solidly built (as to be expected from MB).

Ended up taking the Classique back and got Legrand instead. Both sizes are are very nice. For me this is the one and only MB purchase (i hope) and Legrand feels right in the hand; more stable and creates less stress on hand/fingers (guess my grip to pens could be more relaxed). I am sure Classique would have been a great pen as well but, with eyes closed, i could not feel the difference between the Classique and any other pen i have. With Legrand, you feel the difference. Time will tell how i like it in the long run, but right now, i feel i made the right choice.

The 146 is my preferred size. That is the Le Grande.
It is one of the more perfected sizes by MB IMO.
