Thanks everyone for the warm wishes. Here are few pictures of my new sea dweller which I took from a point and shoot camera.... hope you guys like them.

Here are few questions to which I need your expert opinion on...

I bought the watch which is a "A17XXXX" serial number (1999) in "Like New" condition on ebay from a power sell with a one year warranty on the movement. After receiving the watch I was really impressed and the watch was in "like new" condition. I had three days to return the watch if I was not satisfied with it.

I immediately took it to RSC (NY) for a service quote which will also prove the authenticity of the watch. The watch turned out fully authentic.( Rolex agreed to service it and gave me recommendations).

Rolex gave me the below recommendation(s):

1) Factory Movt Service -pres prf, bzl insert & tube - $555
2) 1 x Winding crown, monobloc - $105

I however rejected the service quote and walked away feeling that I made a good purchase of an authentic rolex sea dweller and decided to keep the watch and not return it to the seller.

I also thought that the dial on the 1999 rolex is unique with only 'Swiss" written on it. I read that rolex made this dial only for one year and changed it to "Swiss Made" since 2000.

Now, your answers will help me decide if I made the right decision to own the watch and not send it back due to the recommendations given by rolex.

How serious are these recommendations given that I have one year warranty on the movement from my seller?

Also, does this make the watch with the original dial more desirable and collectable?

I have not heard of it being more desirable due to the "swiss" marking only, but either way it is a great watch!! Congrats!
