Gonzo - simple
Several of you mentioned that you would like to see some more traditional straps. Well, the true meaning of 'traditional' to us translates into OEM, and there are several strapmakers who have excelled at that. However, our idea was to use much less stitching, and focus on leather's natural grain for texture. Here are few fruits of our labor - I would love and appreciate your feedback!
I call this one the 'Outlaw' - it just looks like it's up to no good: This one is 'Whiskey', due to its coloring: And finally, 'Khaki' - not very traditional, but still very clean: What do you fellas think? Be harsh if you must, please - your feedback is very, very important to me - whether positive or negative. Thank You in advance!

Greg, I love the Outlaw and Whiskey
![]() ![]() Khaki, I don't like light colors on my straps but is a very good idea for the ones who like them. You're doing a great job!! ![]() ![]()

Greg, i like the stitching style on the first one - kinda unique and off balcnce, my kinda thing ;-)
as for the leather texture, imo, the last one - khaki screams "simple" to me, guess it must be the shiny, less textured look, unless it is a croc or gator strap. The first two gave me a more vintage look than the last one, again, its just my opinion (im still a newbie in this strap thing..) and im sure more strap experts will share their opinions/views/suggestions.... Great work Susan! :-) |

![]() ![]() Sadly, I cannot take credit for the actual building of the straps - if that was my job, they'd look like they were built by Edward Scissorhands on 12 cups of coffee... No steady hand here. I do provide some ideas and general guidance. The 'Outlaw' was made by my good friend Tobias, he is the 'crafty hands' of this partnership.

Mornin' Gonzo!
Wow! You guys must be putting a lot of time and effort into this venture. Anyways, I would post a negative comment - just to be honest - but I can't find anything negative to say ![]() The last one - "Khaki" - looks like it was made for my Khaki, although it might be fun to do something a bit more daring. Here's another idea: perhaps some varying colours for the straps. Here is a link to one I found on the Steinhart website. I had actually thought about ordering it for the Khaki: http://www.steinhartwatches.de/index...=221&Sel_ID=20 &Sel_Cat_ID=7#221 After seeing your straps, though, and the types of leather, this one doesn't look so interesting any more! I like the green, though. I finally found an AD here in Vancouver, where I could order a PAM. They don't actually have them at their Vancouver location, but they are the PAM dealer in Calgary. They would be able to do it through the Calgary location. Seeing your straps, makes me want a PAM even more. Well, maybe one day. I'm not even going to bother looking at the AD I mentioned for straps. They are Kirsch, and while I like them, I know it would be a waste of money, as I would end up probably getting a Gonzo. "Gotta get a Gonzo!" ![]() Cheers ![]() Carl

Congratulations again! I was just on your Caliberswiss website - looking at PAM watches - and I see you already have a section for Gonzo straps.
Well done! ![]() Cheers ![]() Carl

Greg,
I've looked at the posts the past few days and I think the collection to date is very impressive. You know I've been looking at straps from just about every vendor on the web over the last several weeks. After a while, things can start looking awfully similar. The Gonzo straps generally look NOTHING like a lot of what's out there, which is a great thing. One the best things about owning a PAM is that there are so many different looks to satisfy so many different tastes. If folks want OEM, then there are fantastic OEM straps readily available. For those of us who like to mix things up, I think your offerings are going to have a lot of appeal. Of the ones in this thread, I like the Khaki just because the lighter color appeals to me with jeans and cotton shirts. One of your other posts had a black/brown combo that I liked. The buffalo ain't bad either. Congrats on this venture - I think it will be a good and long lasting one. |

Figured it doesn't hurt to add them to the site - I'm paying for it anyway ![]() Thanks, man! I love whiskey too ![]() ![]() Quote:
Thanks, my friend! Quote:
![]() We do like to be different, hopefully that comes through. OEM have their place, but that's not where we want to be. Glad you like these! Hey Doc! CaliberSwiss has been a venture of mine for quite some time now, but the Gonzo Straps is a fairly new direction, still learning tons everyday!

Greg,
I just got my PAM yesterday. The strap which fits my 6.5" wrist best is the OEM rubber strap and deployant buckle. My two new Heroic straps - while very very cool /well made - sit with the buckle on the side of my wrist! ![]() Tomorrow I am going to suck it up / go to an AD and see if can get a black leather ( believe they are out of crocs) strap. I am deathly afraid of scratching my lug screw holes - already nicked them. So my advice / request is to create some thin straps ala the OEM models which will not ride up the side of one's wrist. Your straps look to be soft...but thick. FWIW. ![]() Bill |

Thanks for the feedback, mate! As far as the Heroic - are you sure you got the right size? They make some well crafted stuff typically.... As far as 'like-OEM' - that just feels, well, dirty - like we'd be building replicas or something. We tossed the idea around for a bit, but decided to stick with thick and rugged for now. We will definitely have a thinner strap made, but it will still be thicker than OEM. But do remember - we can make you ANYTHING. Just let me know!
