What does the Letter "Z" means?
Hi all,
I just bough a DD and starts with Z, I noticed some preowned ads mentioning letters like M, etc. What is the difference? Very informative forum, I learned a lot and it made me a better shopper, help me get a great deal too, at home to boot, I was ready to cross the border. |

All Z means that the watch case was stamped sometime between May 2006 and end of July 2007 and not necessarily the date when the watch was sold at AD.The M case date stamp is from August 2007 on so you could have a Z and M in the same year case date stamps are just a rough indication of year.

Yes it is, how is yours? I bought it brand new at a certified dealer near me, (I am not sure what is an AD like I see everywhere in the forum) but I know is older, the dealer said 1 year old, again I found out the letter shows is more than a year old but I inspected it and no signs of wear at all. I have all the papers (never filled) so I am thinking the store owner used maybe, but for the price I paid I don't care, I waited too long to buy this watch, I had my first rolex (sub no date) when I was 19 and had 2 more after that but always looking at the DD Gold, my wife is relieved that I won't drag her to Rolex stores when on holidays to drool over "just a watch" according to her. I saw this watch on Vegas 2 years ago (no diamonds) and almost bought it, I am glad I didn't, I wasn't even thinking of diamonds but as luck had it they only had this one and my wife convinced me to buy it, and I am glad I did, it looks great. |

I think mine differs some, but from your photo I can not really tell. It has side compartments to it. If you look at the video (big file) it shows it some. I'll get some more photos this weekend. My friends DD came in a box like mine, but it was a "M" series with only a diamond dial. What style number is yours?
Welcome to the DD club. Mine is costing me some extra change, since now I like going out for dinners and socials so I can wear it. I wear my GMT IIC everyday to work and all. Mike |

It was used and sold new in late 2008. I think maybe only the 348 models come with a bigger box, but I will ask my AD next week.
Your watch is very nice !! Mike |
