Perpetual calendar

Please help me clarify.... Do I have to change the date on my sea-dweller?
I thought all the rolex perpetual calendars will change automatically to 1st March.

Regards,
PS

Perpetual means that the watch is self winding.

the timekeeping is perpetual (not the date wheel) as in it wont stop unless the power reserve is allowed to drain. Only extremely complicated watches can workout what month and day it is. Your watch does not have a month so how will it know it is March.??? Use some common sense please.

I thought so but was thinking too high of rolex and was hoping that there was a mechanism in the movement that will know which month and year it is... I was wrong and was blind sided with my common sense... thanks for getting me back to my senses !!

some mechanical watches do but they are hundred of thousands of dollars and more due to how complicated the feature is.

Oyster Perpetual and Perpetual Calendar are two completely different things...

there are also Annual Calendars out there, which also differ from the former...

Rolex offers neither a Perpetual Calendar nor an Annual Calendar in its current lineup. I don't see why you would've been led to believe otherwise; the wording on the dial is quite clear.

Enjoy the watch !
