Panerai - Zilch Support

After I purchased my new PAM 320 I had a technical question regarding self-winding direction and recommended TPD (turns-per-day) when using an automatic watch winder.

Initially I had sent three e-mails to the web-address listed in the operation manual. Not being the impatient guy, I had let a few days pass between each e-mail. However, I never received a reply or at least an acknowledgment.

I then followed up by sending Panerai an official letter, by which I complaint about the lack of support from their technical department and also attached the three e-mails previously sent.

This was one month ago. No reply whatsoever. I must conclude that Panerai is apparently not interested or could not be bothered to live up to their offer of technical support. Well, business must be otherwise very good for Panerai that they can afford to p*** off their customers.

I wonder if anybody ever managed to get an answer from them regarding a technical inquiry.

I see a change of name coming up...Panaless?

Set it for 850 (both directions), that should do it.

Check Orbita's web site - it might be listed or one with the same P9001 movement might be.

Or you could Google it instead if whinging.

The P.9 series of automatic calibres for the Luminor 1950 models have different numbers of components from 195 for the P.9000, 227 for the P.9001 to 236 for the P.9002. Each of the calibres share a number of characteristics – they all have a diameter of 13¾ lignes, two barrels which give them a power reserve of at least 3 days (72 hours) when fully wound, a balance wheel with adjustment screws oscillating at a frequency of 4 Hz and a rotor made as a single piece which winds in both directions. Each calibre also has a date display and zeroing mechanism for the seconds so that the hand can be synchronised exactly with a time signal.

You can be rest assured that I did my Google exercise and checked the Orbita's web page beforehand!

Don't confuse whinging with pointing out some facts, or did I step on somebody's toes? Let's hope that your next technical inquiry will be answered in good time by Panerai. Have a nice day!

Well I typed in Pam 320 movement and it gave me the winding direction and TPD.
You should thank me for giving you the information that you are obviously not capable of finding out for yourself.

Have a nice day yourself.

231 - manual wind 6497.

Try calling one of the boutiques. I've found them to be very helpful.

Eddie, come on man, what do you expect... Google is so tedious.... Plus picking between three different setting would involve some trial and error - that's just WAY too much effort (especially after you've just spent several thousand on a luxury watch )

Well I did the google search and after I added "winding direction" did I get 1st line response of what I was looking for only to find this http://www.paneraisource.com/forum/v...&t=551&start=0 Seems other inquiring minds want to know too. Eddie, try to be less aggressive with questions you may deem as not to your standards and if you can't do that, then don't respond. Not a threat just fact.

Come on guys....

Be nice.

I think the bottom line is that the technical support by Panerai could be better. If one of us is in trouble or had a question, I'd like to be assured that the maker of my costly timepiece is there to help me out - no matter the question.
