Cases
Luminor has the crown guard & lever.
Rad's are screw down.

Lugs,
Lum - Screws or pins
Rad - Wire system. Bit harder to change straps

Rolexgiants-

What are you asking for? I mean they are completely different shapes, sizes, thicknesses, crowns and lugs.

Is there anything you are looking for in particular that you are worried about? I think seeing them in person will help you out big time!

I always thought the Luminors were the mens range and the Radiomir were the ladies range?

Mais non! I don't wear a skirt, and the 268 will be my next Panerai.

Nah, the Panerai book states:

Luminor - Mens model
Radiomir - Ladies model
40mm - Childrens model

And i've sold the PAM now, so i don't fall into any of the above

Historically, the "Radiomir" style came first, the famous Italian and German naval commando dive watches. They were the ones with Rolex movements and Rolex pocket watch cases turned ninety degrees with wire lugs soldered on. They also used Radium as lume material. They still glow to this day and they are still too radioactive to safely wear. (In another sixteen centuries or so, they should be safe, though.)

The Luminor style case with the crown guard came later, in the late 40's or early 50's.

When the company was revived in the 90's, they were all Luminors (or little "Mare Nostrum" Chronographs). The revived Radiomir was brought back eight years ago to tie the cuurent holder of the name back to the WW2 era manufacturer. There are significant differences between the new Radiomirs and the originals:

Size: 45mm new v. 47mm old
Lugs: Screw-in new v. Soldered-on old
Lume: no longer using lethally hot cancer-causing radioactive material.
Crystal: Sapphire new v. Plastic old
Movement: Unitas/In-house new v. Rolex old (now ask why the old ones are really that desirable.)

Luminors, which were also named after their lume material, (though they just use SuperLuminova now), come in a few shapes and sizes of their own...

I could go on... It's fascinating, really...if you're into that sort of thing...
