Never
I never argue with somebody about my watch.
I used to wear DJ and especially the last 116200 attracted a lot of people, I once was in a bar in the early morning and a guy said "Wow that's a nice Rolex let me see it", I showed him the watch on the wrist and he said "Nice" I just answered :" They keep getting better in Bangkok" and we both laughed, I bought him a drink and later he bought me one and we never mentioned it again. This still makes me laugh: About 20 years back (I was 16) I was wearing a knock-off Breitling Chronomat with blue leather bracelet. It was one of the first functionally automatic fake chronographs. I went to a Rave party and the bouncer had seen my watch while entering thru the detection gate, he asked me and I said it was a fake. He absolutely didn't believe me, he said I was playing with him. I swore it was a fake but he said " I'll give you 1000 guilders for it" (about E450) I told him again it was a fake but he just wouldn't believe it and insisted on letting me sell it to him for this ammount. I just did....he just wouldn't believe it and insisted (7 ft. 220LB) on buying it. Left the party early though... Jack |

I would laugh!!!!!!!
Then i would say to the lawyer, " Might be a good idea to develop an aptitude to identify "real" from "fake" if you are planning on having a distinguished career in your chosen field!!!" But this took me 3 mins to come up with!!!!....so maybe would not have worked!!!! Maybe use it next time you see this WIS lawyer. What spectacular ignorance!!!!!! |

my 2 cents is forget it. many people show ignorance in different ways. she obviously could not comprehend owning such a fine timepiece, and had to ASSUME it was fake, because no one she knows has ever had a real one!

During more than 20 years of wearing Rolexes, I've only had one comment. And, that was a compliment about my, then new, Exp II. Occasionally, I'll notice someone eyeing my watch but never have had any comments audibly given.
Like any other situation where someone makes an inappropriate or rude remark, it's best to just consider the source and let it go. They're stupid this late in life, it's not likely they're going to listen to reason from you and correct their behavior! You did the right thing. |

I have noticed a few TT Blue YMs in the turquoise section at some truck stops out west.

That was very immature for her to do that. I am really sorry that happened, i think someone is jealous.

Yup, unfortunately there's a very rude and outspoken nitwit like that in every crowd. I think the best response in such situations is simply to give them a glaring cold stare like they are a tiny insignificant insect and give a quick one or two word response and then carefully brush off your arm and turn away.
I've had the experience of someone looking at my 18K/SS Oysterquartz and then going on to "explain" to me how my watch is a cheap counterfeit because the second hand ticks a second at a time instead of sweeping like a genuine Rolex should. |
