my father has worn a YG President everyday for 30 years. the only time he takes it off is for surgery and golf....that is it. he does everything in the watch, heck, i remember him cleaning a deer in that watch..lol. i just grew up thinking that was a normal thing - i had no clue the value of the watch till i was out of college. he would say "its a watch, what else would i do with it other that wear it?" then again he is not a collector of watches and other than a couple of nike watches he wears when traveling over seas he doesnt own any other really nice time pieces.

I think if you are able to own one, you deserve the glance from peolple, so don't mind if it's too showy or not, IMHO.

Go for it.
I did.
And not a second of regret.

I have the SS GmtIIc and occasionally gets noticed when working close to others. I am considering buying a used DD YG possibly from tarrytown jewelers or Swiss luxury, and getting that noticed is one of my concerns.

Whether I'm wearing slacks or blue jeans, white shirt and tie or just a t-shirt, nobody has ever noticed it.

Buy it and enjoy it.

I retired my gold GMT Master II C when the recession hit. My average day involves working with a lot of people having tough times financially that have to work on narrow margins if I am able to continue projects. For me, and my circles of daily contacts, it doesn't work.

If I were working on Wall Street, or if I were a jeweler, I would wear the President.

I certainly wouldn't wear it overseas, depending on where you travel.

Only you know who you will be in contact with and what message you want to send.

This is exactly the projected image that caused me to sell mine.
