Quick question to the "Re-sellers" on the forum..

Trying to sell my explorer II on here and on ebay. I got a question from a buyer who wants to have it shipped to Malaysia. Any of the re-sellers here ever send things out to other countries? I've heard of scams that they run especially outside the US. Any input on this would help... Thanks.

Possibly a perfectly safe transaction but I wouldn't do it unless face to face with cash.

Do it as long as you have the monies in your bank account (cleared) face to face deals are difficult not eveyone is out to rip you off.

I got the same problem but from a buyers perspective.

Coming from Malaysia, a lot of US seller's would prefer not to deal with me. The funniest thing was last week when I wanted to buy from a US seller. He insisted on USPS Mail Postal Order (or something like that) but how the hell am I supposed to get that since I can't actually got to a US post office to purchase one.

I even offered to pay via Western Union where he actually gets the cash in hand first before shipping it out and even then he wasn't willing to deal. That really left me dumbstruck....

But yeah, the many bad apples in my country makes purchasing pieces so much harder for legit buyers...

I am also from Malaysia, and I do agree that though some sellers are not comfortable shipping out of CONUS and I respect them for that. But many are still very willing. It is all about trust (which is very lacking nowadays). I will strongly recommend using Paypal for buyer protection, and pay a little more for shipping by FEDEX/DHL. I just bought a vintage rolex (I hope it is genuine, it had arrived 2 days ago while I'm outstaion. I'm now at airport heading home for my baby), seller sent using USPS, took 10+ days, but it 'arrived'.

Mikester you should have no prblem shipping to any country as long as you have a cleared bank wire in your account... We have more crooks on your local CraigsL then any international deal...
Just play safe and good luck

Check for references.

Once you have payment, what would hold you from selling overseas if the terms are spelled out and there are no hidden surprises.

I know not everyone out there is out to scam but its so rampant its scary sometimes especially on big ticket items. I've read where people get the money in the account through paypal later to find out the owner filed some sort of fraud that they never made a purchase and the money gets removed out of their accounts..
