Greetings... The moment has arrived. Can you help?
Greetings and salutations,
I've been dreaming/thinking/wishing/hoping for this moment for a long time. I am finally ready to take the plunge and join the ranks of you fine gentlemen and ladies. Any advice on purchasing my first Rolex? I have had my eyes on the classic black stainless Submariner, and I see the new 2010 model JUST came out at BaselWord. Model: 116610LN New Submariner on Rolex.com Where is the best place to buy? In person? Online? Does Rolex set their prices everywhere or can I shop around? Thanks very much for any advice you can provide. Cheers, J.C. |

Shop around. Discounts, in this economy, are out there - but be aware that the model you want is a stainless steel sport model, and the new version of a classic, so I wouldn't expect a lot of movement on the MSRP. As to where to buy, I'd go to an Authorized Dealer in person and create a relationship - remember, you'll be back in 3 to 5 years for service on the timepiece, and that relationship will aid you then. Online may get you a slightly better price, but nothing beats a dealer-customer relationship.
Good luck.

Thanks!
Any thoughts on the new vs old Submariner? Looks like the new one has some great features (new steel, glidelock bracelet). Is there a place where Rolex's MSRP are listed online? JC |
