Ian, Thank you for your time and explanation. What you described is what I thought it would mean. From doing landscape designs and hanging out at the tattoo shop with my friends I had a very good idea of it's meaning!!! THANX!!!

When I mentioned that I have been using Moleskine and he commented that "Moleskine paper is scratchy for sure, so if it feels smooth as is, but a little scratchy, that will be the best that it will be. "

Ian, another product I haven't had much luck finding. I'd love to try some if you know of a good place to get it. I like aspects of the Moleskine, especially the portable size of the small journal, but I can't use my FP's with them due to major bleeding and feathering issues. Right now I use Pilot Gels with them.

John, I'm using a moleskin notebook(within my new leather cover with the....snap enclosure)with a Montblanc FP (Solitaire Doue' Signum)which has an extra Fine nib....and.....there is some bleeding but not too bad. Btw, the ink is there Bordeaux and I'm really liking that color a lot!!!
Oh, Btw I'm going to have to get a bottle their new Oyster Gray as I really like gray as a shaded color and know I would love writing with it...Oh John, great minds think alike I also carry Pilot Gels but use their extra fine product(.38 size line)!!!

Swisher has them in stock, they call this version the basic. the smaller size they have is about the same as the standard Moleskine. Here is a link, great priice too! http://store.nexternal.com/shared/St...unt2=498801827 Arggh, I hate when websites do that. the link will take you to the main page, click on the clairfontaine button and your looking for the black basics one which I think is first on the list! |

You summed up my perception perfectly! It's like a mishmosh of various colors, rather mundane and nondescript appearing.

No worries John. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!
Ad Faith. I agree with you and John. I am normally a fan of Noodlers (their Standard brown being my "go to ink") but this one looks washed out, it is not grey black or blue! I think if it were me I would add a bit of black to it to give it more depth! I have always wanted a nice saturated black ink and the only ones I have seen that have that are iron gal and I just do not want to risk that type in my fountain pens. A friend of my (the person who sells David Oscarsen at my local AD) is in Italy and she assures me she knows just the right black ink..I will report back! As to blue blacks I quite like Noodlers standard blue black. |

Ian, my back-ordered Aurora black is finally due here on Monday from FPH. It's supposed to be one of the more saturated blacks out there, with good flow. I'll definitely let you know how it works and get some samples up.
