PAM104...which one next

G'day PAM enthusiasts...

I only have one...the 104 which I love..and a 90 has come up locally.....

What are your thoughts about the 90...and more to the point how does/will it sit alongside a 104 in a collection?

I love the look of it....the watch is still arriving so will try it on at the dealer when it does....and be able to compare it directly to the 104....

your thoughts/feelings/input before that would be much appreciated...

as with all these posts it's the hunt that's the thrill...and wanted to engage your views also

here are a couple of side by sides of the net:

Hey Dalip...a little too much going on for me to dig the 90.

How about a nice Sandwich Dial 111? ;-)

Hi Dalip

Personally, I think the 90 is too similar to the 104. The only real differences are the minute track and PR meter on the 90. The 90's dial is a tad too busy for me.

How about something with a sandwich dial instead (as Bill suggests) ?

Cheers

Thanks for the excellent feedback so far all..

Great food for thought. Will have a look at a 111 in the flesh.

How about a 292? Only £300 difference in price but a very nice Ceramic Radiomir!

What are the thoughts? Pics of it on a brown strap are insane

I had a 104 like you and have since moved on to sandwich dials but still keeping to the theme of clean dial of 104. That ruled out 90 for me, way too busy. Suggestions of 111 here is a good one too. You have to get used to manually winding watch every day/couple of days if it's your daily beater.

Radiomir models are really nice change from Luminor Manira. Also for your non-PAM friends to tell the difference else they think you wear the same watch (104, 90, 111 look to the same to these people!). However, coming from 104, you'll find it a pain changing straps on 111 and Radiomir. BTW, 292 rules if you can afford it. Personally I still can't convince myself to part with practically double the $ of a 183.

Happy hunting mate! Keep us posted.

Well as Ive just acquired a 312, I cant get it off my wrist at the moment. But thinking longer term, after my 287 has arrived, I think I would be looking at a 112. Just love the clean crisp dial................

Thanks for all the responses all. I think I'm going to head towards a 292 which will involve a flip! I like the difference of this watch when compared to the 104.

I have had a look at all the models suggested here but feel that the 111/312 etc are too similar.. Is this wrong? Mind you people would say that about a sub and gmt2c so who knows.

I love Radiomir dials, and Rads wear so well & comfortably, but I dislike changing straps on them. I've had a couple in the past and just used to leave the same straps on all the time. If you are not a frequent strap swapper or are happy with OEM then this is not an issue

Cheers

Yep I'm liking the look of them too Clive. To be honest I don't change the strap on my 104 that often so that shouldn't bug me.

Just wondering whether to spend the $$$ on the 292 or go for another model. A GMT pepsi and a black ss daytona are also in the mix!

How about 24 or 243
Those are the Submersible models, with a strong bezel

That's a nice 'problem' to have Dalip! The only thing that really puts me off the 292 is that it's ceramic and therefore too light for my taste. I avoid Ti for the same reason. Other than that, I'd be happy with any model. Of the Rads, the 190 and 232 are especially tasty

Cheers
