Pictures of the actual project X Sub!!

okay guys,

after a couple hours of desperate searching on the net for a better picture of the project X sub i found some...

the picture everyone has been seeing over and over again is just a photo shop image and is not of the real deal.

these pictures are.
hope you enjoy.

So, what's the mark up on this going to be?
I'm asking because the mod is something that I could pretty competently do in my garage, and then have the local Rolex dude put in a new tube and crown.
Seriously.
In fact, I could probably do it better, to avoid the gap between the case and the crown.

You wouldn't get that X on the dial though. Now having said that, I know a guy in the UK that could custom print a dial for you. Maybe it could say Connery Edition, or something? No "laser" ruby either...
And, I bet I could get the crown/tube set better, so that it is "crown up".

Yes, but you can use it to cut off your shackles when you find yourself in a cold war dungeon awaiting torture.

The last pic is an extremely sought after collector's sub. It's the BOND sub! That's the watch that the other project X's there are trying to mimic, and I personally would love to have one.

The only mod I'm really interested in is doing a PVD on a IWC Pilot Chrono.

But this isn't that.

A bone-stock 14060M non-COSC on a NATO is more similar.

point taken,

but it is more correct for it to be done to an anniversary sub rather then just a regular no date sub... you would not get the maxi dial which is the whole point.

i dunno, i like them because they dear to be different... everyone who owns a sub has the same exact watch.. i like sporting something different.. many of you look at it as hacking up a new sub.. i look at it as a modern watch with a vintage feel. i think its pretty cool, and if its cool enough for daneil craig "new james bond actor" to wear one then its ok in my book! in the future i could always buy a new sub to have a "normal one"
the watch will still function the same. once i set some cash aside i might just contact project X and have them create one for me.. i will tell them to leave the X off of it...

i mean, i can feel everyones pain about hacking up a new 50th sub... but thewatch won't be worth anything until 25 to 30 years from now then maybe it will have a little spike in price, to many made to be worth thousands and thousands of dollars... i know many are hoping for it to turn into a crazy collectors piece but in reality it won't... history repeats it self. you only live once, no sense owning a rolex your whole life only thinking about the resale value... thats my point of view anyways, but i can certainly see where everyone is coming from, to each their own i always say.

the only thing i would tell project X if they made i watch for me, is i would not want the fixed bars... i would like it to stay spring bars and i would like the bracelet with the watch being they keep it... the fixed bars are just a way for them to be able to keep the bracelet...

i like pro hunter rolexes as well... i like what they do with rolex's... but i also like what project X does as well. both different a bit... i would never do PVD coating just because it scratches over time and when it scratches, it does not look pleasing at all...

It's like adding a huge spoiler to an already beautiful car....merc, Audi, BMW.....taking away the subtle design and replacing it with an overdone, in your face concept....not for me..

I prefer the MKII Kingston if you're going vintage Bond. Cheers,
