Do you prefer pins or screws?
Hi guys,
As we are all aware, some bracelets (like in Rolex) are held together by solid screw-down screws. Other watches like Omega, are held together by pins and sleeves. Which do you feel more confident with and why? JJ

Hey JJ,
In addition to the excellent reasons above,I've found screws much more secure. |

For the kind of engineering that's been put into the rest of the watch, pins somehow feel kind of cheap.

I think the most important point is....with pins there is a certain sense of insecurity which is non-existant when you have a bracelet held by solid screws.

I prefer a good screw over getting pinned any day. lol
Seriously I really cant stand Omega bracelets for that reason. I cant adjust the bracelet as easily for summer and winter (when my wrists swell due to humidity in summer......) |

I consider screws mechanically superior to pins. There is also a wide variation of how they fit. I've had some that were way too loose, and some that would consistently bend the tool I used to push them out.

Screws but...
always make sure they are screwed in tight. I didn't and one time at the gym on the treadmill the screw on my president bracelet came loose opened and whammo my watch went flying, with absolutely no damage to watch case thank god.
Would you believe I was on my hands and knees for 10 mins but I found the screw, so be careful because if not truly tight they will come loose. I then bought a set of the tiniest screwdrivers and it only takes a sec to check each of the screws. |

So the question of a screw just popping out so effortlessly is a bit surprising unless the scew was like undone to start with. JJ
