Any comments on the new Sub? Am thinking of buying one, and already have one 16610, bought it recently in Jan this year...so??!

Hello rs16610 and Welcome to TRF, The watch is not out yet but so far so good...Once it's out then you will be getting lots of feedback on it.

Today i went to the authorized local dealer...and they told me they will have it in Sep this year...well i think it is more like a GMT Master, more luxury than what it should be...a classic diver watch..you know ceramic bezel, the shape of the watch...and by the way ceramic cracks under high pressure

Not sure what your refering to but if the bezel on a DEEPSEA does not crack at 15k feet I don't think we will have any issues

i thought about the DEEPSEA...but that not my concern, under high pressure i will crack, if the bezel doesn't

...but i think i should research about it...interesting i guess..

Rolex is making larger cases, like on the Deep Sea and this new Sub, but the band size remians the same size. Why don't they make a wider band to accomidate the larger case? I am sticking with my 16610.

You know what guys i think i will stick with my Sub as well

...i will save my money for somthing else...i think it is great to have the last version of the Sub with its classic shape

...coz the new is just like the GMT Master and am not a GMT fan

I have a 16610, and will buy the new Sub C too. I think it is a nice evolution of the Sub line, and there is room for both in my own collection.

I've already ordered one. The demand for this watch is only going to increase over time. However, I would not expect anymore major changes to this watch over the next 10-20 years.

Rolex has redefined the Sub through the careful process of refinement.

If the retail on this watch only increases 10% per year over the next 10 years, we'll be looking at $18,800+ to purchase quite possibly the same exact watch.

This year we have witnessed a 20%+ jump from $6,000 to $7,250. Of course, this increase is also factoring in the major improvements inside and out.

The time to buy this watch is now... not later. The demand for this watch already far exceeds the upcoming supply. I don't think this dynamic is going to change anytime soon.

Five years from now, the old Sub will look exactly that... old.

Having the last issue of the old Sub, and the first issue of the new Sub - would make for a very nice pair, both short term and long term. You would be able to choose between a classic look, or the classically refined more modern look.

I'd go for it... now. The longer you wait... the more it's gonna cost you.

I think it's a great improvement over the current Sub. It has a maxi dial which is more legible, a ceramic bezel which is more hardy and turns more smoothly, and the Glidelock clasp which makes it more comfortable to wear.

So I for one am thankful Rolex managed to improve on a classic!

Agreed. The 16610 is a classic, but the new Sub is even more functional and more of a tool watch, not less.
