Should You Choose HTC EVO 4g over the new Iphone 4??
Anybody had tried or owns an HTC EVO 4g??? What are your thoughts???IM thorn between the iphone 4 and this phone...They said current users can get the iphon4 at $199 if they renew their contract..what a BS...
Multitasking: They said not all apps can be multitasked..only a few and when i say few not more than your fingers in one hand.. Unlimited data: All new customers can no longer get unlimited data on the iphone4 and ipad...this wont work for me but maybe some people might be happy on this..$15 for 2mb and $25 for 2gig... Video Chat: Only available on Wi-Fi.. 4g Service: They never ever mentioned anything about 4g service..maybe till 2011 or 2012...or maybe if they release another new iphone 4g or 4gs... Flash Player: Steve Jobs said NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!! I have been an iphone user for long time..but the new phone seems like no different from any other smart phones......The only good thing i love about this iphone is the easy to use system...but i need something different..Chip i need you here to convinced me to stay...

My iPhone 3GS is great EXCEPT for lack of Flash support - you don't realize how many sites use it until you don't have it. I won't get another iPhone until Apple decides to let me surf the web the way I want.

Don't do it! I am not going anywhere. Upgrading to iPhone 4 from the 3GS as soon as the pre-ordering goes live on apple.com on Tues 6/15. AT&T is my carrier and I am sticking with Apple and the iPhone. The iPhone 4 is just so f*cking sexy. Killer form factor. Major hardware upgrade in my opinion.

Oscar, They are both great phones, but for me.....
iPhone 4 all the way... leading the market with the best apps and technology. Yes the only drawback is no Flash.... not much to argue there. I have the 3gs and can't wait to get the #4 Another thing...is the turnover.... I originally bought a iPhone 3G (and one for my wife), after 1.5years I upgraded to the 3Gs and sold my old two 3G phones on eBay and got almost $400 for each! (which paid for the upgrades and left $200 in my pocket). I will do the same with the 3Gs.

I was just thinking about this today.
I've looked at many videos about the new EVO 4G, but, while I hate to admit it, I'm a big time Apple fanboy lol I'm getting the iPhone 4 on launch date, but I'm having the hardest time trying to decided weather to go with the 16GB model, or the 32GB model. I currently have the older 8GB 3G, and I still have over 5GB left. However, I hear that when you record an HD video, 1 hour = about 4GB. So, all the forums I belong to highly recommend getting the 32GB version. Many state that, in the life of a 2 year contract your dumping $1500+ why not just spend the extra $100 while upgrading ?? I don't know, what do you all think ? Sorry for rambling on lol I know it does suck that the iPhone does not support Flash, or that the front facing camera does ONLY shoot over WIFI, but all that will change I hope, in the near future :) |

hey oscar,
I just got this phone yesterday and after using it for a few days, it seems like an alright phone. To me, it just seems like a reskinned Iphone with a few extra goodies. There is only two things I have noticed so far that catch my eye. 1) The UI is ALOT more customizable than the Iphone. You have a choice to do whatever you want and make the interface look as you please. 2) The speed. The phone never lags as far as software loading and day to day operation is concerned and the internet is super quick.

Is the blue-tooth on the new iphone still restricted, ie tunes, pics, file sharing etc?

Very cool Oscar. Still not sold and sticking with the iPhone. The HTC EVO is a brick compared to the iPhone.

Well, I can only offer my own opinion, but having used HTC, Blackberry, Nokia and iPhone for a mixture of business and pleasure the iPhone is on a different planet to the others. I'll be upgrading my 3Gs to the 4G as soon as my contracts permits... roll on July!

I prefer the Motorola Droid which is also available for GSM systems as the Milestone. I'm not sure Apple can continue their number one position with these great new android phones.

Oscar, there are plenty of hands on reviews of the iPhone 4. This is a good one and should help make your decision :)

My coworker has the HTC EVO and that thing is a brick. It reminded me of the old Windows Mobile phones.
I was in the Verizon store yesterday and testing out the Android OS and I didn't like it as much as the iPhone OS. I gave my wife my 3G since that account has the unlimited plan. When the iPhone 4 comes out, she will be upgrading to a 32 GB model and I'm going to add a 16 GB model for myself with the $15 plan since I really don't use over 200 MB a month. |

Oh Oscar, I understand! I've been doing nothing but researching phones for weeks! OK, MONTHS!!!!!!
I have been hesitant to leave T-Mobile who I've been with for 9 years....been using Blackberries for the last 4 but wanted something new.....so I bought the new 'MyTouch 3G Slide' on the 8th....an Android phone. Took it back today! It was a nice phone, but had a couple of issues. Also had a physical keyboard which I thought I'd need which made it quite thick and heavy. I soon discovered that I actually PREFER NOT to have a physical keyboard! Sooooo, I may wait to try the new Samsung Galaxy S which comes out in July, or just go ahead and jump to AT&T for the new iPhone.....UGH, such problems, hey?! As for you, I know how much you enjoy your iPhone....if you're that enticed by the Evo, can you activate an account with Sprint on trial to see how you like it before porting your AT&T number over for good? |

Yes, I did remember posting that video up of the EVO 4G a few months back. It is one HELL of a phone. I guess I'm just used to/stuck with my iPhone's platform. Plus with the upgraded screen, and HD video as well I'm definitely sold. I never bought a "real" camera, and now I probably will never have to EDIT: Also, while we are on the topic of the EVO, here is a head to head comparison video (the EVO 4G vs. the Droid Incredible), made by my hands down favorite tech reviewer Jon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqqFh...os=g8clKIzBrUM |
