4. When or if its dirty resist/ avoid whiping down the watch.
5. Dont use your nails to remove dirt.
6. Clean the watch by washing it in water with a mild handsoap.
7. If possible dry it with a hairdryer.
8. In areas where the water is treated rinse the watch with distilled water afther having cleaned it in tap water.
9. Most importantly: If you can not resist whiping down the watch; only use a natural chamois. (not the synthetic version) The chamois should always remain dry and never come in contact with water; or it will loose its natural softness. Unlike cloth & fiber; natural chamois will not scratch shiny surfaces.

Feel free to add to the list.

I just give the crystal a good lick, wipe w/ my 100% cotton t-shirt & I'm good to go.

Honestly, the only place on a watch where a scratch would bug me is on the crystal. Thank god for sapphire. Abrasions give a watch character, therefore I always throw my new watches in the garbage disposal.

If you are posting a list of ways to avoid scratches on a watch, you are worrying excessively about it! Just wear and enjoy it!

I figured it'd be much easier to just leave my brand new platinum Day-Date at the dealer and they'd look after it. They said if I did that I could have the watch FOR FREE!

If you agree to this option though, you have to have complete trust in the AD, otherwise, they may end up doing the dirty on you, and sell the watch to someone else without informing you.
These AD's are known to sell their Rolex if someone offers them enough cash.
So the next time you visit the AD, and you discover you're precious timepiece has disappeared, think of the dismay this will cause.
Legally, you don't have a leg to stand on.

Just wear the damn watch and enjoy it...thats what its for. When the watch gets too many dings and scratches for your liking...time for your watch to make a trip to the RSC. Bottom line, you bought the watch to enjoy it, so wear the damn thing and enjoy the hell out of it...it can ALWAYS be fixed...its just a watch...an expensive watch, but a watch nevertheless.

No worries! They said if that happened I could apply the proceeds to a BRAND NEW replacement of my choice. Talk about a deal!

Life is short, I just wear mine. Things can get nicked & scratched, which can be repaired with $$$.
