New Guy
Hey all,
I need some advice. Back in the late 80's I bought an Oyster Perpetual Datejust with Jubilee band. I was so excited that I called my folks from a telephone booth from the air force base I was stationed (no cell phone yet). I drove home and realized I had left the box, paperwork and extra bracelett links in the phone booth. I called the security police and drove back to the booth and of course everything was gone. I went back to the dealer and they gave me new paperwork, receipt and said the links were easy to get and that they probably had extras if I ever needed them. I wore the watch for years except for when I was working. I gained some weight and just put the watch in my safe and haven't worn it in a long time. Now 20 years later I want to start wearing it again but it is too tight. Where do I take it for a good cleaning and to buy a couple of links? I've asked at some of the local jewelry stores and they all have different answers. What is it going to cost me to get my watch wearable again? I've been reading all the threads here and I'm getting the Rolex itch again. Thanks, HercPilot |

Hi and welcome to TRF. Rather sad you lost the original links, but I'm sure any Rolex centre will be able to help you out. Just give them a try.
Cheers and good luck - JJ

Thanks for the welcomes. I don't know much about watches so I'm going to just hang out and learn for a while.
