LOL don't know about that value thing.

The MSRP on that was right at USD 4000 and less than 120 were built for the world 100% by hand.

Five people build them by hand. And let me tell you.... five weeks is the longest I went without messing with it, and it had ZERO deviation!!!
Most accurate watch I have ever seen.

You piqued my curiosity about this watch, Chip. I did some reading on it, since I was unfamiliar with it. Here is the essence of what I have read - very interesting indeed!

The Spring Drive idea was conceived in 1977 and is based on the foundation of all mechanical watch technology, a mainspring, but uses an entirely new system for time regulation that delivers the equivalent of 1 second per day accuracy, and unique, glide-motion hands.

The Spring Drive contains a mainspring made from a new high-elasticity material called Spron 510ª to deliver more power and a reserve of 72 hours. A "Magic Lever" system fitted directly to the shaft of the rotor provides ultra-efficient transmission of power to the mainspring.

Finally, the Tri-synchro Regulator replaces the escapement of traditional watch mechanisms and regulates three types of energy: mechanical, electrical, and electro-magnetic. The balance wheel of traditional movements (escapement), which relies upon a back and forth motion to regulate the speed at which the spring drives the hands, is removed from the Spring Drive. The motion of the Spring Drive's movement is all in one direction, thereby virtually eliminating friction and improving accuracy.

I always say if I scratched it it means it has developed character...look at it this way that will be the only watch in the world that will have that scratch that you made if you know what I mean...
