I know I am late to this thread, but the pics and discussion have raised the 'same 'ole, same 'ole ' issue for me: nice new 16710 with all the bells and whistles or an old 1675 ?
I have a friend who has one and will sell me a nice 1675(his watches are never perfect, but always the real deal and decent)...or I could buy a 16710 down here in Houston at Hal Martin's for a nice price because I sent the man 3 referral/sales(my client and his sons)....what's a fanatic rolex WIS to do ? best, Dan |

Yeah Dan you cannot go past a good condition 1675 and that would easily be my preference to a more modern GMT.
You know you will love the vintage coolness.

Well Dan,I hear questions like this quite a bit..and the most common answer is that if you are going to wear it everyday then go modern..
But quite honestly I couldn't disagree more,to me a nice serviced vintage Rolex is much more stout and resilient than any modern watch..you can swim, shower, procreate or what have you with no fears of damaging your vintage watch..these watches are literally built like a small tank and can handle whatever you can throw at it..so if you like the look of vintage then there's no reason you shouldn't have one as a daily beater. You also have the added benefit that your watch will only appreciate with time..not like a modern one that continually depreciates until it finally becomes vintage.. |

You know a 50 year old pointed crown guard GMT would be a great watch to wear.
99.9% of people however would perhaps think otherwise....but to me that is just an added reason to wear a 50 year old GMT
